Oakland band, Meernaa, have announced their full-length Heart Hunger will come out on June 14th via Native Cat Recording today and have shared its first single “Better Part.” “Meernaa’s songs are full of mystery and soul, buoyed by lead-singer Carly Bond’s dominant vocals and warm synth sounds.”

Bond describes the ultra-romantic “Better Part” as “an extreme 80’s themed mega love song,” adding, “It’s the first real love song I’ve ever written and truly meant with my whole heart. I wrote it a few months prior to getting married to my now forever dude and fellow bandmate (Rob Shelton). It’s about fully realized love, the freedom that comes with absence of doubt, the acceptance and support of the changing human beings you are/will become and the open invitation to always come back to the love you share when, sometimes, you forget about it.”

On their first full-length release, Heart Hunger, Oakland-based Meernaa–Carly Bond (vocals, guitar), Rob Shelton (keys), Doug Stuart (bass), and Andrew Maguire (drums, percussion)–plumbs the depths of indigo waters. Celestial and soulful, Meernaa’s songs manage to remain grounded in the natural world. Native Cat Recordings will release their highly-anticipated album on 6/14/2019. These songs are reckonings; they are revelations of secrets; they are lonesome wanderings. They are portraits of emotional evolution, rich illustrations of painful pasts and hopeful futures.
