Minneapolis five-piece Porch Light have released their new single “Under” ahead of their first-ever Lollapalooza performance this weekend. Built around the goal of writing a mosh-pit-ready anthem, the track charges forward on heavy riffs and what may be vocalist Jackie Uhas’s most powerful vocal turn yet, blending the band’s restless energy with their knack for strong melodic hooks.

Uhas has described the song’s origin as a session at her parents’ house that started as a jam and slowly took shape, with the chorus’s now-signature “wake me up” refrain coming together at practice months later. She made a point of saving her vocal takes for the very last moment of the album’s ten-day recording session, wanting to push her voice to its limit without holding back — a choice that, by her own account, led to writing the bridge on a whim during the final night, shot of Jameson included.

“Under” follows “Arctic,” the band’s first new music of 2026, which explored the tension between commitment and longing within an already devoted relationship. Both singles build on the momentum of last year’s EP Navy Blue, whose track “Oxygen” pulled in more than 10 million views and helped push the band’s combined social following past 715,000.

Since forming, Porch Light — Zac Fogarty, Jackie Uhas, Henry Hughes, Kyle Siemon, and Tony O’Keefe — have sold out headline shows across North America and supported acts including Spacey Jane, Goth Babe, and Quarters. This summer brings festival stops at Lollapalooza and Shaky Knees, followed by the band’s first-ever headlining tour, which kicks off September 22 in Dallas and includes their largest headline shows to date at the Troubadour in Los Angeles and Bowery Ballroom in New York. A debut album is expected later in 2026.
