young friend is the recording project of Drew Tarves, his new album, New Entertainment, will drop on November 6, 2026 via Nettwerk. Today, the Vancouver artist is sharing new single, “Miracle.” New Entertainment was recorded live off the floor, fully analog, channeling rock albums of the past. It’s a celebration of the slow process and the inevitable mistakes. “Miracle is about the little moments and being so grateful to find love in those mundanities,” he explains. “The third verse serves as a realization that maybe even despite all of those beautiful moments two people can share, the illusion can be broken, and it might not in fact be a miracle,” says young friend

New Entertainment was Produced by Tarves’ longtime collaborator David Marinelli (FINNEAS, Wallice, spill tab), New Entertainment captures the authentic, wall-of-sound energy of a band of the past. He brought the song structures into rehearsals, allowing the band to flesh out arrangements organically – resulting in a tactile sound that nods to classic influences like Wilco and Neil Young.

Along with the news, young friend also announces The Hard Rock Tour, beginning with a hometown show in Vancouver on November 4th at The Hollywood Theatre, where fans can get a live glimpse of the new album ahead of its release, other live dates include Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto, with more to be announced soon.
