Young Rapids are a psychedelic-inspired dream pop quartet from Washington DC who broke onto the scene in 2012 with the release of their debut alum, Day Light Savings.

On “Melt,” the first single to be released from the band’s forthcoming sophomore LP release on DC-based indie Chimes Records, lead singer Dan Gleason evokes Beach House’s Victoria Legrand and the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser. Premiering today, the track “constantly diverts to new forks in the road with a train-sound sample thrown in here, and a wah-wah psychedelic guitar solo tossed in there.”
