“You Up?” By Johan Lenox ft: Ant Clemmons
Kanye, Lil Nas X, and Ant Clemons as count themselves as fans and collaborators, recently, Finneas has joined the mix. Originally a classically trained composer, Johan Lenox has committed to channeling his orchestral prowess into a singular and maximalist vision of pop music. Forgoing synthesizers and guitars altogether, Lenox employs strings, woodwinds, and assorted vocal textures that have landed him credits on records by Kanye West, Lil Nas X, Travis Scott, Channel Tres, Teyana Taylor, Snoh Aalegra and more.
Now, Johan’s singularly baroque style of R&B is on full display in his debut pop album, entitled WDYWTBWYGU (short for “What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up”), available March 11, 2022 and described as hip-hop songs held together by Johan’s auto-tune croon and his tender and self-deprecating perspective on fading future horizons and the disappointments of adulthood.
