“Wish I Could Hold You” by Say Lou Lou

Say Lou Lou, is the project of twins Elektra and Miranda Kilbey, recently they recently released “Wish I Could Hold You,” the track is features producer Eli Hirsch (Suki Waterhouse), mixer Blue May (Blood Orange, Kano, Joy Crookes, Ghetts, Sudan Archives). Reflecting on the new stage of music, the duo said, “We want to show a different side to a breakup, the vulnerable, devastated, remorseful one. On ‘Dust Pt. 1’ and “Above Love” we were bitter, scorned, spiteful. But with our new single, we see our past lovers in a different hue, with warmth, self reflection and sincere affection.”

The new song is the latest from Say Lou Lou, building to their first album in six years, ‘Dust’, out November 22nd. The album sees the duo delve into dreamy indie aesthetics with opulent production and velvety vocals, detailing their past five years via an immersive escapism that they’ve become so well known for. As founders and leaders in the space of gloomy indie pop, Dust is a new gold standard for the genre.

Their new batch of music was built following different creative pursuits by the twins, as Elektra was filming her AppleTV+ show, Shantaram, abroad, and Miranda was working on a screenplay, creative directing and producing for several tv projects. After this physical and creative separation (and a few other life changing events and intense break-ups), Say Lou Lou was reborn in the form of Dust. “Distance makes the heart grow fonder — of each other and music!” the twins reflected.
