Welles Share “Life Like Mine”
Welles have premiered a new single, “Life Like Mine” and announced an upcoming, debut EP Codeine to be released April 28 via C3 Records. Fronted by Jehsea Wells, the band made a potent impression at key showcases at SXSW this year and will go on to play Governors Ball and Bonnaroo this summer. More tour dates to be announced.
Jehsea Wells departed his native home in Ozark, Arkansas for Nashville in 2016, bringing with him an authentic aptitude for penning penetrative rock music and the gritty groan to deliver it. While some listeners eagerly equate his voice to rock legends, Jehsea readily self-describes it as nothing short of “burnt toast.”
Jehsea told has explained how this song testifies to his transition from small town to music city. “I wrote this when I first got to Tennessee and felt all the little memories from home slipping, said Wells. “I felt I needed to chronicle them in some way. It was the first thing I recorded in my new room.”
Welles will release their debut EP Codeine on April 28 via C3 Records.
