Viet Cong is a four member group, comprising of former Women members, Matt Flegel and Scott Munro who played music in their basement for much of 2013 to produce their new sound. The addition of Daniel Christiansen and Michael Wallace, Viet Cong produced their debut cassette. “What emerged from the studio was a mixture of sharply-angled rhythmic workouts and euphoric ’60s garage pop melodies, balanced with a penchant for drone-y, VU-styled downer moments.”

The song featured above, “Oxygen Feed,” is a good introduction to the band’s raw sound. Mexican Summer will be releasing the EP on July 7th in the UK and July 8th in the USA. The band recently also announced their North American tour, the dates of which you can find below.
