Trentemoller shares “Deceive” video
Taken from the new studio album Lost by Trentemøller, “Deceive” is the fourth single and features Sune Rose Wagner from the Raveonettes. The vibrant peice with it’s haunting vocals is one of the key tracks on the album, which also features guest vocals from Low, Jonny Pierce from The Drums, Marie Fisker, Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead and Jana Hunter of Lower Dens. Lost is out now and Trentemøller recently released the Deceive EP on his In My Room imprint, featuring an extended, Trentemøller Club Mix which adds bass while focusing on all the fine details from the original. Additionally, Anders Dixon adds a misty, dusty atmosphere with broken beats while the EP is rounded off with Trentemøller’s Dub Version of his Club Mix. The Deceive EP is available here. Trentemøller, fresh off a US tour, has announced his run of EU festival dates as well, which can seen below.
“Deceive” has a brand new video Danish artist Andreas Emenius, it can be seen above. The video is a study of a horse, an animal Emenius presents as both pre-historic and modern. The camera examines its movements, muscles, skin, limbs, hair, and bones. Its viability and brutality is juxtapozed with the temporality of the body. The eye links the horse, like a conversation without words, to the rest of us and for all its banality it’s beautiful.
“Sunes Wagner’s hypnotic words about an obsession for someone, the idea of almost wanting to be another body, I thought work well with the film’s point of view, and it also gave me an oppurtunity to introduce a visual vocabulary not often seen in music videos.”, Andreas Emenius says. Danish musician Trentemøller and Swedish artist Andreas Emenius have been exploring parallels between their work for some time. Emenius was involved, together with Henrik Vibskov, in designing the cover artwork for Into the Great Wide Yonder, Trentemøller’s second studio album, as well as the stage scenography for the ongoing Lost world tour. Trentemøller was also invited to perform in Emenius exhibition ‘Movement’ at H.C Andersen Castle, Copen- hagen, in 2012, staged and curated by Andreas Emenius, with international artists in dialogue across the fields of painting, dance, performance and music. They plan to continue expanding the fields of fine art and popular culture with new projects in 2014/15.
