"Timezone" by Blue J

“Timezone” is the second single from mysterious Vancouver band Blue J. The track follows “Early Show”, and is just as heartfelt and moving. According to the bio provided by Blue J, the name of the project may or may not be a reference to a baseball team, a melancholic person who’s name begins with the letter J, the loquacious bird, a comic book character from The Justice League or simply a blue coloured J. Blue J will be playing with Peach Pit, Tim the Mute, Dadweed, and many more on December 16th at the Kingfisher Bluez Christmas party in Vancouver, BC.

lyrics for “Timezone”

All the people out tonight / In Robson Square there’s a snowball fight / first dates on the gallery steps / ice skates click as they spin pirouettes / and I / can feel myself running dry / forgetting what it feels like / to get it just that right

it’s been awful lonely living in the city without you / sleeping in your timezone, call you when I get home / and you’re just waking up

take the last train back to mine / biding my time on the millennium line / couples stumble home with wine on their lips / hung in the air the sound of a kiss / and I / can feel myself running dry / forgetting what it feels like / to get it just that right

it’s been awful lonely living in the city without you / sleeping in your timezone, call you when I get home / and you’re just waking up / I’m happy just to think about you on this night walk baby / Imagining you sleeping, what you might be dreaming / and you’re just waking up

The songs were produced at Afterlife Studios by John Raham (Destroyer, Dan Mangan)
