The Hidden Cameras released a new single, “Carpe Jugular” today on Evil Evil/Motor Music and have teamed up once again with director Kai Staenicke for the video, premiered. The single, taken from The Hidden Cameras latest full-length album, AGE, relased in January, features remixes from Hard Ton and Absolute – The band worked with Staenicke on the video for the single off AGE, “Gay Goth Scene”, released in late 2013. For “Carpe Jugular”, Staenicke takes the dark, pulsing rhythms of the song to an underground club where love hurts, literally, and only love can mend it again. The Hidden Cameras will be touring throughout Europe in the coming months – complete dates below. AGE is a manifesto of truth written primarily in F-minor.

Since 2001, The Hidden Cmaeras have been creating orchestral/electro-pop on any continent. The first Canadian band to sign to the legendary Rough Trade label, The Hidden Cameras paved the way for the then just emerging Toronto music scene. Gibb declared, “AGE deconstructs my musical roots,” and to a certain extent it is a coming-of-age record. He retrospectively explores the most diverse shades of age, not comprehended in terms of years; its meanings are too multi-layered. Age can mean anything, but above all, age means to assume moral responsibility.
