The Body Signs With Thrill Jockey

The Body Signwith Thrill Jockey, announce summer tour

The band is announcing summer North American tour dates around the recording of the album in May and June, as well as dates in July with Subservient Fuck, and they have a new EP coming out next week on At A Loss. Portland-based progenitors of aural horror The Body have signed with Thrill Jockey for a full length this fall. The duo of dummer Lee Buford and guitarist/vocalist Chip King use doom metal as a framework to explore the farthest reaches of music, employing full choirs, multiple drummers, hissing layers of feedback and inhuman howls to create haunting works that defy traditional classification systems. The band will be recording at Machines with Magnets (Black Pus, Battles) in May.

The Body will be touring this summer, first to Providence before recording the album, with West Coast dates with Subservient Fuck (featuring members of Thou) in June. At A Loss Recordings will release the Master, We Parish EP on April 30. You can check out a disturbing video for the track “The Ebb and Flow of Tides in a Sea of Ash” above.
