Teens in Trouble Share “It’s Up To Me”
Lizzie Killian AKA: Teens In Trouble, has shared a new Kyle Broom directed for her single “It’s Up To Me.” A song off the artist’s forthcoming album What’s Mine, available March 29th via Asian Man Records. The track captures the very essence of the record. “This song follows the theme of feeling like you’re stuck wasting time, but the only person who can really help or change things for you is yourself,” Lizzie says. “And it sucks, and it’s hard, and sometimes lonely.”
Writing this song became cathartic, and turned into a motivational anthem for Lizzie, putting her world-building skills on full display. She says: “I love how huge it sounds. We had a lot of fun building this out in the studio. We had more room to play around and collaborate on this one. It was up to us and we made it happen!”
In the studio, Killian collaborated with producer and multi-instrumentalist Randy Moore, as well as Henry Chadwick on drums and Jeff Rosenstock lead guitarist Mike Huguenor. Teens In Trouble laid down ten tracks of spiraling guitars, hard-driving drums, and super-groovy bass, coupling sunnier pop melodies with long, interweaving instrumental sections. Unified by Killian’s passionate vocals.
In 2023, Teens in Trouble teamed up with bluesy alt-country artist Desert Mambas on a split EP released by Kill Rock Stars and Asian Man Records.
