The Teen Age ‘Ways to Adapt’ EP Release on Papercup Music
Brooklyn quartet, The Teen Age, released their debut EP, Ways To Adapt, June 3rd on PaperCup Music. To celebrate the band has premiered a video for the song “Stop” and will perform June 4, at Pianos (10pm), before a slew of Northside Festival dates including the first ever PaperCup Music showcase, June 14 at The Grand Victory (see below). Ways To Adapt features four new songs about which singer/guitarist Digo said, “All the songs on the EP grew out of a certain emptiness I had after a bad breakup, and how I tried to cope and adapt through different vices.” Ways To Adapt was recorded at Madpan Studios in New York with Producer Uri Djemal.
Formed in a Brooklyn basement in late 2012, The Teen Age plays a mix of ’70s inspired punk and garage rock. The group made their live debut in January of last year, supporting Palma Violets. Their debut single, “Ventura”, was recorded at the Converse Rubber Tracks Studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and released via PaperCup Music. “Ventura” showcased the band’s particular brand of “Doo-Wop Garage” featuring reverb-drenched guitars and a sing-along ready chorus. The band followed up with the “Matador” 7″ single in October, performing at the 2013 CMJ Music Festival, along with a slew of New York City shows in the fall, after which they spent the winter holed up to write and recordWays To Adapt. The Teen Age took to the road in March for a two-week tour, hitting the Savannah Stopover Festival and the SXSW Music Conference.
