Tash Sultana releases new single “Mystik”
Australian, multi-instrumentalist and musical loopologist, Tash Sultana has just revealed her brand new track “Mystik”. The song was written recently in Tash’s home studio whilst on a break from touring the globe for the last 18 months. Once again Tash played every instrument on the recording, with the addition of a new saxophone she picked up and learnt to play a week before recording! The song was tracked and mixed with ‘Notion EP’ engineer Nikita Miltiadou at Melbourne’s own Smooch studios and is out on Mom + Pop Music. The single will feature on Tash’s highly anticipated debut record due in 2018. The track follows her live performance video for her Notion EP track, “Murder To The Mind”.
Tash on “Mystik”:
“I had a mental block for fucking ages, then one day in my studio I woke up jetlagged at 5am and this just fell out of my finger tips,” said Tash of the track.
Tash Sultana first wrapped her hands around a guitar at the age of three, and the self-taught artist quickly developed her own unique style that has people lining up to see her perform live. Tash’s vocal shines with a magical quality, she has a natural gift for melody and her virtuosic guitar playing is from another planet. Her carefully crafted, edgy, multi-instrumental pieces featuring beat boxing, unique guitar work and percussion styled finger tapping, has left audiences in awe. She honed these performance skills busking on the streets of Melbourne, before having homemade videos go viral getting millions of views online.
