SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, today have shared two new singles from their forthcoming album, You’ll Have To Lose Something, available August 23rd via Saddle Creek. “Somethings Ending” and “I’ve Been Evil”. The songs are accompanied with a video directed by Kelsea Dakota Larson and filmed in rural Appalachia the director notes “My collaborator and spouse Jim and I have been waiting for the right project to film here in rural Appalachia since we moved a few years ago, when we heard these new tracks, we knew this was the right one. We took the titles literally, and wanted to highlight the darkness that can be right under your nose in a beautiful little mountain town, or anywhere really, while outsiders carry on.” The song follows “Let The Virgin Drive,” a genuinely frightening pop track that anchors itself on Japanese City pop samples and a demented news clip of someone screaming.

The band recently announced a US tour in support of the album. Kicking off September 24th in Boston, the tour will hit Detroit, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, DC and more before wrapping up November 9th for a hometown show at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer. Tickets for the tour are on-sale now. Support on the tour will include Winter and Kassie Krut (ex-Palm) on select dates.

You’ll Have To Lose Something is described as a generational, album as emotionally wrought as it is sonically progressive. Their last release, 2023’s i’m so lucky EP, explored the breakup between Zack Schwartz and Rivka Ravede, setting the stage and emotional territory for the band’s forthcoming r record, . This latest offering is the most crystallized version of the band’s aesthetic, a continued meditation on the end of relationships and the unsteadiness and described as a quietly heartbreaking collection of songs.

SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE have released four albums and a handful of EPs, the trio includes Zack Schwartz, Corey Wichlin, and Rivka Ravede. Frank Ocean became a fan, spinning “fell asleep with a vision” on Blonded Radio.

Four vinyl variants will be available on street date, including the “derelict house” variant that is bundled with two numbered art prints from Rivka Ravede of SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, available exclusively from Saddle Creek and limited to 500 copies.
