Son Lux details EP, Releases Tune with Lorde

Son Lux Announces New EP ALTERNATE WORLDS MAY 27 on JOYFUL NOISE, Releases Track "EASY (SWITCH SCREENS)" with Lorde, Son Lux plays New York City 5/13

Joyful Noise Recordings has announced the release of Alternate Worlds from producer/composerSon Lux (Ryan Lott), due on vinyl on May 27, 2014. The four track EP is also available digitally now.  Alternate Worlds reimagines four songs from his most recent full-length Lanterns, and includes a collaboration with Lorde.

After Lorde began covering Lanterns‘ “Easy” at her shows, the two created a collaborative reworking of the track.

On May 13th, Son Lux will celebrate the release of Alternate Worlds with a performance at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge. Following the release show, the band, which is is rounded out live by guitarist Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang, will head out on an extensive European tour.

Beyond releasing Alternate Worlds and worldwide touring in support of Lanterns, Lott has also been hard at work with Sisyphus, his collaborative project with Sufjan Stevens and rapper Serengeti, who released their self-titled debut on March 18th via Joyful Noise / Asthmatic Kitty. Lott, equal parts producer and composer, has been delving into further collaborations as Son Lux, with more details to be unveiled in the coming months.

Alternate Worlds tracklist:
