SoftSpot and Sean Nicolas Savage share song
Brooklyn trio SoftSpot shares a reinterpretation of their song “Crosswinds,” from their recently released sophomore album MASS. Stepping away from their usual approach to instrumentation, SoftSpot describes the track’s inspiration as somewhere between “a late nineties Weather Channel local forecast and a late night hotel lobby where no one knows your name. “The reimagined “Crosswinds” features vocals from Canadian singer-songwriter Sean Nicolas Savage, who will be releasing his new album Bermuda Waterfall on May 12 via Arbutus Records. This week marks the start of SoftSpot’s US tour.
2012 saw the self-release of their first proper 12″, Ensō. The effort is an intimate representation of a year of recording at their home. Containing two songs from the 2011 cassette only self-released ep NOUS, Ensō (the Japanese word for circle) can be played as a complete loop with the end meeting right back with the beginning.
