Small Black Releases Real People 12″ EP
Real People, the new 12″ EP from New York band Small Black, expands on the pristine electronics they mastered on 2013’s full-length Limits of Desire. Real People features two songs with guest vocalist Frankie Rose, the first of which is available for streaming today. The “pristine and sincerely romantic” song “Lines of Latitude” premiered today.
The title track of Real People was inspired by Colton Harris-Moore aka The Barefoot Bandit, a Washington teenager who went on a crime spree/adventure, sleeping in people’s vacation homes and stealing airplanes, before being caught on a stolen speedboat in The Bahamas. Another highlight is a cover of “The Downtown Lights” by Scottish legends The Blue Nile, transferring the original song from the streets of Glasgow to NYC.
Copies of the Real People vinyl 12″ will be available at all of Small Black’s upcoming tour dates with Oberhofer and Snowmine. Real People will be available in vinyl and digital formats from retailers on April 1st (March 31st in Europe).
