Skiifall announces his new EP Lovers Til I’m Gone, will arrive on January 15th, 2025. Ahead of the album’s release, the Montreal artist has shared “Mystery Man.” Working with Kenny Beats, who produced the entirety of the EP alongside contributions from longtime Skiifall producer YAMA//SOTO, gave Skii both the inspiration and courage to make music that his mother would like. While lover’s rock and reggae more broadly surrounded him during his childhood in both Montreal and St. Vincent, he never considered it as being more than background music until he experienced its ability to serve as a balm from the chaos of life in adulthood. “Mystery Man” follows previous recent single “Problems.”

“Mystery Man,” is accompanied by a Rubberband-directed performance video. The the EP features Jorja Smith on “Her World,” in addition to her, Popcaan lends his unique voice on the song “Come Over.”

Speaking about Lovers Til I’m Gone, Skiifall shares:

“When I first sat with Kenny Beats he spoke openly about how wanting to honor his father had inspired him to release solo music that ultimately became his debut album Louie. That conversation gave me the inspiration and confidence to try making music that my own mother would like listening to, since my earliest music wasn’t something she could relate to. A combination of the reggae that she played in my house when I was a child and Kenny pushing me to take artistic risks that ultimately resulted in Lovers Til I’m Gone, a project that I’m extremely proud of and excited to share with the world.”
