Skiifall and Badbadnotgood “Break Of Dawn”
Skiifall shares a new collaborative single “Break of Dawn” featuring jazz ensemble BADBADNOTGOOD. The new song arrives following the launch of BADBADNOTGOOD’s Canadian “Talk Memory” tour dates which Skiifall will support as a special guest following the artist’s debut EP WOIIYOIE TAPES Vol. 1 released this summer including songs “My Gully,” and “Bagga Yute.” With production duties handled by The Kount, Yama/Sato, and BADBADNOTGOOD and additional vocals on the track from Sam I Am and ad libs by Zibz, “Break of Dawn” marks the most overtly reggae-influenced song of the emerging artist’s catalog that has explored the sounds of the African diaspora over the course of his releases to date and builds upon the EP’s atmospheric and melodic instrumentalism to bring forth an uplifting jazz-infused anthem.
The Montreal-based, St. Vincent-born artist found fans in the likes of the late Virgil Abloh, Jorja Smith, OVO’s Oliver El-Khatib and Amaarae, Skiifall is rapidly consolidating his reputation as one of global hip hop’s most disruptive burgeoning forces. As inspired by the bashment of his St. Vincent homeland as he is the postmodern Atlanta icon Young Thug, Skiifall’s multifaceted output is representative of a musical DNA that crosses cultural boundaries.
