Shy Hunters Premiere Single, “RIGHT WORLD”
Shy Hunters premiered a third single, “Right World” today, – in conjunction with the release of their debut LP O, That I Had Wings. To celebrate, the Brooklyn-based band will perform at Union Pool on April 25 before supporting Jolie Holland at Union Pool on May 13.
Featuring guitarist/vocalist Indigo Street and drummer/keyboardist Sam Levin, O, That I Had Wingswas produced by Alex Newport (Bloc Party/The Mars Volta/At The Drive In). Shy Hunters was born out of a shared aesthetic and desire to fuse a sturdy love of vintage pop with the spirit of experimental exploration. Street and Levin met in 2009 performing in a noise band, while primarily working as supporting musicians. Street has performed & recorded with artists such as Yoko Ono, Jolie Holland, Marc Ribot, Jeffrey Lewis, Jim White (The Dirty Three), while Levin toured regularly drumming for R. Stevie Moore. It was during a European tour with Moore that the two felt it was time to have a go at it on their own. O, That I Had Wings covers a broad musical territory while always staying true to a singular musical vision, combining jagged rhythms and melodies, both melancholy and ecstatic.
