“sad sad sad sad sad” by Trout
Liverpool-based Trout (they/she) releases their debut EP Colourpicker today via Chess Club Records. The release includes new highlight single “sad sad sad sad sad,” of which Trout also shares a new live session today, filmed at Liverpool’s Quarry Studios alongside visual collaborator Mareike Macklon.
New single “sad sad sad sad sad” carries forward the observational, grungy spirit of earlier offerings, and this time sees Trout unleash “a growing hostility towards someone because of their lack of understanding and disregard to your feelings, thinking that you’re sad just to get attention as they’ve not felt any pain themselves.” They elaborate: “It’s half a very sad song but half just mocking this person. It’s the oldest song on the EP but I find it therapeutic to play as I still relate to and feel everything I’m saying.”
Colourpicker tracklist:
01. gutter
02. in my room
03. sad sad sad sad sad
04. words
05. garden
06. bugs
