RIP Swirl returns with new single “Call Me”
RIP Swirl has returned with new single “Call Me,” the track features Tanukichan. The two artists connected after Tanukichan named RIP Swirl’s 2022 debut album Blurry as one of her favorites of the year. A longtime fan of Tanukichan, RIP Swirl was happy to collaborate with the beloved singer-songwriter as one of several vocal features on his upcoming album. “Call Me” follows previous singles “I Found You Out” with Alias Error of a.s.o., “Negative Fantasy” with untitled (halo) and “Perfectly Blue” with Winter.
All singles are set to appear on RIP Swirl’s upcoming sophomore album Perfectly Blue, due out October 17 on In Real Life / Heavy Duty Music / Public Possession. For RIP Swirl, born Luka Seifert, his signature sound is marked by a detachment from prescribing meaning and results while creating. Instead preferring to immerse himself in his playground of musical instruments and creating endlessly with no agenda.
Similar to his process with Blurry, Perfectly Blue was a solo, flowy endeavor with every instrument, production and mixing done in Luka’s home studio in Berlin. The album was mastered by Beau Thomas (Aphex Twin, Burial).
