Singer/songwriter Jason Collett has shared “Right On Woman”, the final single off his forthcoming album, Head Full Of Wonder which has which drops on November 4 via Arts & Crafts.

On the track Collet says, “It was fun to have an injection of Montreal energy via the players on the record – Marcus Paquin’s production and playing, the expansive color palette of Joe Grass’s guitar and pedal steel and (to my ears) distinctly Montreal-sounding drumming of Liam O’Neil (SUUNS). One of the sweetest moments in the sessions though was doing backup vocals with Neil Quin, Carleigh Aikins and Meg Contini. Meg had recently given birth and had asked if it was ok if her partner bring the baby by occasionally so she could breastfeed at points in the session. Having four children and a grandchild myself, I just laughed and insisted that both baby and dad were welcome throughout the session. What was particularly apropos about the backups on ‘Right On Woman’ was watching Meg scoop up a fussy baby from the control room and waltz back into the recording room to join the other singers and record while breastfeeding – total pro!”

Head Full Of Wonder finds Collett orbit, recording in Montreal with producer Marcus Paquin, joined by drummer Liam O’Neill, guitarist Joe Grass, and bassist Mike O’Brien (Zeus). A distillation of the five years since his Song And Dance Man, these eleven new songs hone in on the fine craft of songwriting, offering a direct and simple collection of elegant indie folk, some of the finest creations and poignant of Collett’s storied career. “In absorbing the tumult of the times, there’s a lot of shit to write through, (that Bruce Cockburn line comes to mind, “you’ve got to kick at the darkness until it bleeds daylight”) and the challenge is to get to the other side with something positive to contribute,” he says. “I let go of some swagger and embraced intimacy and joy and wonder. I hear this in the record and it makes me very happy to have made it.
