Formed in Brooklyn as the culmination of two friends becoming lovers, the Point make ethereal synth pop that catches moments in mid-air down to where you’ll find yourself contemplating life while focusing on the slow moving dust particles in the air. Consisting of Michael O’Neill (Ladybug Transitor, MEN) and Sammy Tunis (The Lisps), their third first album Pretty Marsh (following EPs Somes Sound and South Second), came out this past September and is a narrative following the end of relationships and leading into a new one.

Last week, the band played their last show as residents of Brooklyn, as 2015 will see them in sunny Los Angeles. Their show which took place at the art space La Sala, featured a wide range of visual excitement in addition to the music. These elements were far from gimmicks – every song had a unique special arrangement, beginning with the duo playing in brightly lit tent, before emerging by an electrified campfire. The performance also featured choreographed dancers that eventually involved an audience-involved slow dance among the space to a cover of Big Star’s “Thirteen.”
