Pacer are comprised of Eric Poretsky and Jakob Shaw. The Los Angeles based duo Grew up on opposite coasts, and discovered each other at freshman year of their college. Poretsky and Shaw bonded over their love of music ranging from contemporary classical to Americana. Inspired by the ever-changing indie landscape of the early 2010s, Pacer’s early demos and recordings blended thick layers of synths and electronics until they peeled back the layers to a folkier, homegrown sound.

Ditching computers in favor of a Tascam Portastudio four-track recorder, the duo spent the past year and a half writing and recording patient and intimate songs that draw attention to our shared and often unseen inner lives. Recorded over the course of 2019-2020 with a host of close friends and collaborators, their debut EP, The Terror Of Other People will be released this June. Ahead of the album’s release Pacer have shared the lead-track “Waiting for The Punch.”
