Oneohtrix Point Never Announces Again Live
Daniel Lopatin AKA: Oneohtrix Point Never has announced his first Again live shows, will commence in in Spring 2024, including dates in the US, Europe and Asia. This will be OPN AKA: Daniel Lopatin’s first album tour since 2018/19. The 2024 shows follow his sold-out live multimedia tour, MYRIAD based on songs from Age Of. The series, which through the medium of imagery, sculpture and support from three handpicked musicians included three performances at the Park Avenue Armory in New York, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and both the Barbican and Roundhouse in London.
The live interpretation of Again promises will turn the concept of an Oneohtrix Point Never performance on its head once more with the multi-disciplinary artist, Freeka Tet on board as a creative director for the show. Their work together was recently showcased in OPN’s latest music video, “A Barely Lit Path”. The first calling card from Again, this film was directed by Tet and developed from a treatment by Lopatin and himself. It casts viewers into a dream-state to witness a surprisingly emotional and disastrous turn of events for a pair of anthropomorphized CPR dolls, employees of EMC.
The Again live show will start at the EX Theatre in Tokyo and play Osaka and Seoul before heading over to Europe, starting in Berlin, then the UK to play Manchester’s brutalist New Century Hall, London’s Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Centre and Paris’ La Cent Quatre before returning to the US. The New York performance, his first home appearance in over five years, will be at the Paramount Theatre in Brooklyn. For those who would like to catch Oneohtrix Point Never sooner, he will also be headlining the Levitation festival in Austin, Texas on October 26th this year.
OPN’s new album Again, available September 29th follows albums including Replica, R Plus Seven, Garden Of Delete, Age Of and his most recent, 2020’s eponymous Magic Oneohtrix Point Never. Since then Lopatin has been in demand in every area of musical culture, serving as musical director for The Weeknd’s 2021 Super Bowl Half-Time performance, composing and performing the music for Chanel’s 2021 Métiers d’art show, and serving as executive producer on The Weeknd’s Dawn FM. He’s also worked with James Blake, Ishmael Butler, Charli xcx, Kelsey Lu, Iggy Pop and Rosalia, and his production credits include Anohni, FKA Twigs, David Byrne, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Moses Sumney, and Nine Inch Nails among many more.
