“On & On (Again)” By Confidence Man and Daniel Avery

Confidence Man today return with their first single following the release of their breakthrough, critically acclaimed album TILT. A world-colliding collaboration with UK producer Daniel Avery, ‘On & On (Again)’ marks the beginnings of a new club-focused chapter on their new home of Polydor Records.

‘On & On (Again)’ thrums with the electric energies of the club and the warehouse, uniting dancefloors across time and space. A heady mix of Confidence Man’s maximalist songwriting and the thunderous energy of Daniel Avery’s left-field rave music, it’s the sound of both artists defining and redefining their parameters into new musical territory. Speaking on the track, Confidence Man explain: “Dan knows what’s good. And conman does too. It’s a match made in sexy rave heaven. A naughty international subgenre mashup. Yin and Yang in parachute pants. And we did it all for you. Open up and let us in.”

Daniel Avery cut his teeth with a residency at Fabric, going on to tour with Nine Inch Nails and remixing the likes of Primal Scream, Metronomy and Jon Hopkins. His career defining latest LP Ultra Truth features SHERELLE, HAAi and Kelly Lee Owens. Remixing ‘Feels Like A Different Thing’ on Confidence Man’s last record has led to a friendship from afar between Avery and the band, finally meeting at last year’s Glastonbury and heading into the studio together shortly after. ‘On & On (Again)’ is the product of that first session, coming together in a matter of mere hours.

Confidence Man’s 2022 album TILT is portable party that’s levelled dance floors and flattened festival crowds as it’s rolled out across the world, their performances are custom designed to make you dance and lose your cool. Digging deeper into 90s dance references and rave euphoria with a contemporary edge, this new era pays homage to trailblazing electronic artists like Underworld, the melodic soundscapes of Orbital, the pioneering-edge of The Prodigy and visual presence of their kindred spirits, Dee-lite. With a punk attitude and moxie turned up to the max, indomitable force of the cosmos Janet Planet, cavorter-in-chief Sugar Bones and their enigmatic, beatmaking bandmates Clarence McGuffie and Reggie Goodchild are life’s sublime push and pull poured into pure hedonistic ecstasy.

Confidence Man hav played Glastonbury (UK), Rock en Seine (Paris), Primavera Sound (Barcelona), Governors Ball (New York) and Splendour in the Grass (Australia). Following the band’s phenomenal Glastonbury performance, TILT’s lead single ‘Holiday’ shot to new heights – eight months after its initial release – selling out London and Manchester shows in minutes. They will continue their tour with a string of festival performances over the summer in their new London home, including a Parklife debut, mainstage at APE alongside Haim + many more.
