Taking inspiration from both Carly Rae Jepsen and Charli XCX, Magdalena Bay’s Mica Tenenbaum (singer/songwriter) and Matthew Lewin (producer/songwriter) have been making music together since high school. The duo, recently released their new single “Oh Hell” via Luminelle Recordings. On January 15, Magdalena Bay will headline Elsewhere in Brooklyn, NY with a set full of fan favorites including previous single “Venice.”

“‘Oh Hell’ is about young love and how misguided it can be,” says Mica on the inspiration behind the track. “My first relationship experiences growing up were super toxic, but I went along with them because of a vague notion that love is supposed to be dark and complicated. We wrote quite creepy and dark lyrics that work against the light, dreamy airiness of the song.”
