Night Beds Release New Video “Ramona”
Night Beds have premiered the new video for their single, “Ramona.” Directed by Abraham Vilchez-Moran, the video beautifully captures an emotional confrontation between a drunk father and his transgendered teenage son. As Vilchez-Moran explains, “The concept for ‘Ramona’ was birthed out of my aspiration to do something that would speak not only to the heart of the song’s lyrics but also to the feeling that it embodied…I was inspired to capture that raw energy in a story that would reflect what it means to be ‘Ramona’ and what it means to be ostracized for who you are.”
“There is a love between father and son but there is also a barrier. I wanted to show the transcendence in overcoming that barrier, both by father and son. I was inspired by the films HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH and ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER. In light of the recently passed DOMA legislation, I believe this video is extremely relevant in today’s cultural landscape.”
Night Beds will play End of the Road Festival and Electric Picnic at the end of the month, followed by a handful of US dates, before heading back to Europe in November.
