After the release of their recent video for “Winterbreak” and performances at SXSW, Los Angeles’ MUNA are back today to share the track “Loudspeaker,” taken from their forthcoming The Loudspeaker EP that is due for release on May 6th.

“Loudspeaker” is an example of the combination of songwriting and powerful lyrics executed with nuance. Speaking about the song, the band self-describes it as “the thesis of MUNA.” Addressing its themes, they expand that it’s “a song about about marginalization, abuse, and shame, but also about empowerment and ultimately, resilience and survival. It’s a song about being alive in a world which demands that when we suffer abuse, we silence ourselves…and about essentially refusing to let that happen.”
