Motopony Releases “Get Down (Come Up)” Film

Fresh off a tour through India and then through the states, Seattle sextet Motopony have unleashed their new video for “Get Down (Come Up)”. The track off their EP Idle Beauty released by Entertainment One Music (eOne Music) earlier this fall, the psychedelic indie-rockers continue to enchant in a way that wins them fans in high places. Recently, they were invited to record at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, where they recorded a live take of “She Is Spirit.”

The video finds leader and founder Daniel Blue and his star-crossed lover, pulled apart mysteriously and then led back together to the gorgeous synth hook of the track, characteristic Motopony in every way. With tones and textures evoking the skies, “Get Down (Come Up)” follows the Blue’s journey before bursting into an electrifying breakdown.

“In this video, we wanted to explore the otherworldly nature of inspiration and the pursuit of the muse,” Motopony explain. “People are always asking us, ‘How do you write your songs,’ and the answer to that question is never a straight line or clear narrative. Often in a creative cycle there are deep lows and epic highs — get down, come up — and then you hire a dance troupe from Chicago and your director takes the ‘owl metaphor’ to an uncharted universe.”

“Get Down (Come Up)” premiered today and is available for viewing.

Motopony have traveled a long and twisty journey from their origin in the Pacific Northwest to their travels across the world today. Launched by singer-songwriter-guitarist Daniel Blue as his creative alter ego, the band has evolved through multiple permutations into its current form as an expansive sextet. Marked by their vivid lyrical explorations, inventive sonic textures and hard-rocking melodies.
