Molly Burch Debuts “Heart Of Gold”
Singer/songwriter Molly Burch has released “Heart of Gold,” the new single from her upcoming album Romantic Image, available July 23rd via Captured Tracks. The track follows Burch’s release of recent singles “Control.” “Heart of Gold” is accompanied by a video directed by Jordan Moser that serves up a dreamy, campy take on romantic music video tropes. From her mountaintop picnic and alongside a baby goat, Molly spies on guitarist Dailey Toliver through her opera binoculars.
Molly Burch grew up infatuated with classic torch singers like Billie Holiday and Nina Simone, which led her to study jazz vocal performance in college. After graduation, she settled down outside Austin, TX, where she recorded her breakout 2017 debut, Please Be Mine, over the course of a single day. Burch returned again in 2019 with a full-length holiday LP, The Molly Burch Christmas Album” which turned out to be far more consequential than she realized at the time and featured John Early and Kate Berlant on the Wham! classic “Last Christmas” along with heartland hits like “Hard Candy Christmas” and “Snowqueen of Texas” and more.
Tonight, Molly will open for her Romantic Images collaborators, Tennis at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. This fall, she will perform a headlining hometown show at Austin’s Mohawk on September 18 before heading back on the road with Tennis.
