MIKE has revealed his forthcoming release Weight of the World will drop on June 21st. The album will be available via MIKE’s imprint 10k. Along with the news, MIKE has shared the lead single and video from the project: “Nothin 2 Say (Never Forget).” The video was directed by Matter Research in London. “Nothin 2 Say (Never Forget)” is produced by DJ Blackpower, MIKE’s producer alias.

At the end of 2018 MIKE independently released his album War In My Pen, starting a run of momentum that would carry him into 2020. He started 2019 by opening on North American tours with Earl Sweatshirt and Blood Orange, after which he released his next album Tears of Joy.

Born in New Jersey, MIKE moved to London with his mother before settling in The Bronx for the remainder of his later teenage years. Both regions have had an audible influence on the young rapper’s music – in England he was immersed in grime and the music of King Krule, and in the United States he was turned on to Earl Sweatshirt and MF Doom. In New York, he discovered several artists with a similar ear and style, and formed his collective [sLUms]. Consisting of sixpress, dj ???, King Carter, Jazz Jodi, and DJ Mason, the group is a diverse range of producers and rappers who each make music about the tribulations of coming of age and being black in New York City.
