Merchandise Debut Video For “Telephone”

Merchandise have premiered their video for the single "Telephone" from their album 'After The End'

Merchandise have today premiered the new video for ‘Telephone’, a collaboration between band and hugely influential Scottish artist John Byrne. Taken from recent album, After The End, ‘Telephone’ was filmed on location in Edinburgh earlier this year and is the band’s modern take on John’s infamous play The Slab Boys with Carson, Dave and Pat cast in roles previously made famous by Robert Carlisle, Robbie Coltrane and Alan Cumming, while the 1983 Broadway outing starred Kevin Bacon, Val Kilmer and Sean Penn. The video even includes a cameo from John himself.

Speaking of the video, Carson Cox said, “This video was lots of work. For sure our most theatrical but also our most animated. Under the amazing art direction of John Byrne and a load of scots we were able to not only confuse time but create a new type of surrealism. We smoked a ton of cigarettes and stuffed ourselves with food till the ideas came flowing out…”, while John Byrne said, “Delightful bunch of guys, really, really talented – going to be BIG, no two ways about that! They were great to work with and God bless them – very, very smart AND funny.”
