Mehro Shares New Single “Reason to Live”
trauma lullabies, the thematically raw new album from rising artist mehro, is set for release on their mother’s birthday, May 2. On trauma lullabies, mehro aims to scratch, pull, massage and kick all of your senses while highlighting the underlying theme of trauma. “The trauma we have experienced makes us who we are,” explains Mehro. “It makes us lack, makes us want, makes us have, makes us win, makes us lose and makes us choose what we believe and what we deserve. So close your eyes and dream your best dream.
In conjunction with today’s announcement, mehro has shared their latest track “reason to live.” With a soft acoustic guitar and echoing vocals, the new song sheds light on mehro’s innermost thoughts and emotions.
Speaking about the new song Mehro says: “A friend of mine took me on a tour of famous Elliott Smith landmarks in Silverlake and Los Angeles – we ended up at the house where he died. The dysmorphia and darkness left an impact on me I didn’t realize would last as long as it has. Even writing this it feels like a part of me is still there.”
“This song came to me after that experience while sitting on the floor of my room, uncertain of the future, lost in a sea of doubt. I hope he had something to do with it and I hope it finds whoever needs to hear it – like it found me to be written.”
