Overmono, recently announced their new album Pure Devotion, will be available on August 7. 2026 via XL Recordings. The UK duo includes aka brothers Tom and Ed Russell. Ahead of the LP’s release, Overmono have shred Lead single, “Lockup.” The accompanying video was shot and directed by long-time collaborator Rollo Jackson

What started as a reimagining of Overmono’s live show in 2024, was followed up by a headlining spot Glastonbury’s West Holts as well as selling out London’s Alexandra Palace and curating Manchester’s Warehouse Project.

For us, making music has always been about having fun. being in the studio together, having a laugh. a never ending process of exploring new ways of making tunes. forever learning, always trying to get better – v83 was a new pb on one of these tracks…

with this album we wanted to try make something that captured the physical space of our studios. setting up loads of ways of processing, recording, re amping sounds…. ‘the vocal isn’t sitting quite right? let’s track it through an old tannoy speaker in the basement. that synth needs to twang harder? let’s play it through an old train station announcement speaker from the 1930’s.’ we ran tape over magnets, blew up some speakers and finally utilised that dirt cheap overclocked fx unit we snaffled years ago in bromley. we even oven baked a cymbal covered in coffee grounds, crisps and vinegar – thank you sylvia massy for that one

and a huge thank you to the incredible artists we collaborated with, rollo, john holt, kindora, ruthven, we couldn’t have done this album without you and honoured that you’re part of it
