Kelis has announced that she’ll be performing at this year’s NPR SXSW showcase, her first performance since 2010’s All Hearts tour with Robyn, and her first performance ever with a full 12 piece band. Other guests to perform at NPR’s Wednesday, March 12th showcase include St. Vincent, Damon Albarn and Perfect Pussy.  This in support of her forthcoming Dave Sitek-produced record FOOD out April 22nd via Ninja Tune.  In addition, Kelis will be taking her Le Cordon Bleu certified training to the streets of SXSW by serving up her culinary creations out of her own food truck that will be trucking all over the city that Thursday and Friday. Keeping in the sprit of the food truck and her album title, the Food Network’s Cooking Channel will be airing a Kelis food special “Saucy and Sweet” premiering February 26th at 8:30 EST.  The special will focus on her own dishes and recipes and give an inside look into her life and passions.
