In honour of Father’s Day 2018, Oklahoman troubadour John Moreland releases a new music video for “Slow Down Easy.” The cinéma vérité-style black and white video pieces together archival clips of skateboarder Raven Walton with footage of Walton caring for his son, Taft River, and skating with a group of friends he’s had since childhood who are now all fathers. The video reflects on the intimate moments: fixing his son a sandwich, helping with his slippers, brushing his teeth. Moreland’s 2017’s release Big Bad Luv is an honest, bruising experience about love, faith and the human condition.

Earlier this year, Moreland co-headlined tours with Deer Tick and James McMurtry and is on the road this month in Europe. In 2017, Moreland sold out headlining shows on both sides of the Atlantic, shared the stage with John Prine and Iron & Wine, and performed at Nashville’s legendary Grand Ole Opry and on BBC’s Later…With Jools Holland. Moreland finished the year with a rousing sold out Tulsa hometown show at Cain’s Ballroom.
