In support of her debut record, Pull My Hair Back, Jessy Lanza is touring select cities in the US for the first time this January. You can also today get a taste of her live show via an exclusive filmed interview and session of the romantic, building “Strange Emotion” on Yours Truly, beautifully shot in a stark concrete basement during last fall’s Pop Montreal.

Released in September 2013 on Hyperdub, Pull My Hair Back is the debut from the Hamilton, Ontario-based Lanza – one that seamlessly flows between R&B, electronic and pop, and that places her on the label that houses such innovators as Burial, DJ Rashad, Laurel Halo, Kode9 and more. Entirely co-written and co-produced with Jeremy Greenspan of Junior Boys, the record speaks to Lanza’s ability to blend genres. Lanza will tour the US for the first time in support of her debut this January.
