Jerusalem In My Heart Reveals dates
Jerusalem In My Heart, the Montreal-based experimental film and music performance project helmed by Radwan Moumneh, will soon head out for a string of performances in several cities in May and June.
JIMH’s last live performances followed the release of their debut album, Mo7it Al-Mo7it, in March 2013. Those performances featured Moumneh and French musician Jérémie Regnier on various instruments, alongside multiple film projections created by JIMH collaborator Malena Szlam, whose work also formed the album’s artwork.
This time around, JIMH will perform as a duo of Moumneh and Quebec filmmaker Charles-André Coderre. The pair have spent the past several months working up a new body of music and film, which will be presented under the title “if he dies if if if if if if…”. Starting with the work’s first public performance at Toronto’s Music Gallery on May 9, JIMH will then hit the Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Sled Island in Calgary, before returning home to play Montreal’s Usine C as part of the Suoni Per Il Popolo.
