Hurry Drop New Single “Something More”
Ahead of the release of their new album Don’t Look Back, Hurry, sharing another single of the LP, “Something More.” The track follows previous singles “Parallel Haunting” and “Beggin’ For You”. Hurry have a number of upcoming live appearances, including a Philadelphia record release show on August 11th with a lineup including superviolet, Dim Wizard, and Trace Mountains.
Matt Scottoline discussed the new track saying:
“”Something More” is a self deprecating rock song, and explores the notion of how feelings of unconditional love can just trap you sometimes. It’s written from hindsight. From a songwriting perspective, this was a song where I tried to mash up some feeling from Gerry Love’s style on Songs From Northern Britain with some more punk and emo influenced guitar leads. Justin also rips an amazing solo in this one.”
Don’t Look Back takes its title from a song by Teenage Fanclub, who famously named one of their records after a Big Star song with 1993’s Thirteen. It’s a lighthearted nod towards the referential nature of power pop. The LP drops on August 11th via via Lame-O Records.
