Campus Christy includes vocalist Chris Manak AKA: Peanut Butter Wolf and multi-instrumentalist Brian Ellis. Manak has known and admired Ellis from his work with Egyptian Lover, and after several rounds of exchanging music and vocals between Ellis’s home in Escondido and Stones Throw Studios in Los Angeles, they had Campus Christy.

“Horizon” is the latest single from the album. The original “Horizon” is from the mid-80’s and “sounds like part of the LA Paisley scene,” says Chris. He continues “I discovered it around 2010. One of the first ones Brian and I tried to cover. Brian asked if he could add synth to it and I said sure and Shags Chamberlain [mixing engineer] said it made it sound more like Joy Division which always works for me.”

The video follows Chris drifting across different parts of LA, ultimately ending up on his therapist’s, J.Rocc, couch. The video was shot by Alfredo Lopez, an old friend of Chris who has done videos for Stones Throw artists including Vex Ruffin and The Koreatown Oddity. “I asked Alfredo to pick a song to do a video for and this was his favorite.”
