“Honey” By Graace
Australian indie pop artist Graace shares her new single “Honey”. The track is off her forthcoming album Afterimage. which arrives on August 16th – her first new project in two years. The song follows recent singles such as “Jealous Type” & “Her.”
“Honey embodies reckless abandon, exploring the exhilarating nature of temporary indulgence post-breakup” explains Graace. “It serves as a distraction from emotional turmoil, offering a temporary confidence boost with a “fake it till you make it” mindset. The feeling satisfies the craving for novelty and intensity, showcasing the charismatic charm of a new person and mirroring the intensity of post-relationship pursuits”.
Having been through grief, heartbreak, and healing whilst “listening to a lot of fucking incredible women,” Graace returned to the studio inspired and ready to create. The Afterimage EP takes us through jealousy, angst, nostalgia, denial, ambivalence, reflection, acceptance, and then some, with each track representing a stage at the end of a relationship, and the ensuing broken heart when it all comes tumbling down.
On her forthcoming album, Graace added “Just as an afterimage is the lingering impression of an object seen after closing your eyes, “Afterimage” captures the essence of carrying past relationships into new experiences, incorporating the lessons, heartbreak, and love from those encounters”.
