Ahead of the release of her new album Hollybaby, which drops on December 13th via KRO Records, singer-songwriter, Stella Rose, releases the single and lyric video for “HOLLYBABY.” The track follows lead single “MS.45.”

The writing process for Hollybaby saw Stella Rose differ from familiarity. Not only did she shift from her native New York to Los Angeles to complete her home recorded demos, she also adopted a more urgent style of writing, embracing time constraints and challenging herself to give her original ideas a “second life”.

Each day reached 100+ degrees as Hollybaby came together during the hottest week of the summer in LA. Both Stella Rose and her producer Yves Rothman fed off that uncomfortable heat in the studio, culminating in her loudest, rawest and arguably most entrancing material to date.

2024 has been a busy year for Rose, modelling Ann D, Celine and EDR and having recently performed at the very first show at Hancock, along with Pretty Sick and The Dare. The artist recently wrapped up a run of UK/EU tour dates with A Place To Bury Strangers.

Eyes of Glass, recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Yves Rothman, combines the poetic soul of Stella Rose’s lyrics with the serpentine sound she and Rothman have developed. Earning its place feeling less like a descendant of what has come before, than a piece in conversation with its artistic predecessors.

Nothing outweighs the significance of creating her work. “At the end of the day, I’m a writer,” she says. “It’s the only way for me to process my feelings, and when I write I might not understand the meaning or gravity of my words but at some point later they’ll explain where I was and how I’ve grown. That’s how I make music: I collect things over time.”
