Friends since 1st grade, front man Will Hoag and guitarist Ryan Ulibarri have been inseparable ever since. Starting as friends with a mutual interest in music, they spent many early mornings and late evenings rehearsing in their parents’ garage. After being validated by their friends and family that the songs their 13-year-old selves were writing were “actually good”, the duo partnered with some musician friends & entered their first Battle of the Bands in Columbus, also their first ever public performance, and won.

Since then, Cousin Simple has brought their infectious spirit and high energy to every performance, playing sold out shows across the US in Columbus, Chicago, NYC, DC, Boston and more. Drawing influence from bands like Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys and GROUPLOVE; Cousin Simple has curated their own sound that has resonated with listeners across the world and has landed them playlists slots across multiple DSPs.

Recently the duo shared their third single “Head Over Heels” off their forthcoming album, Part Time Job. Cousin Simple on the track, “I have this vivid memory of crashing my bike when I was younger and going over the handle bars. It obviously wasn’t fun, but there was a split second in between crashing and the pain that it was almost fun, like a thrill. And that’s what this song is, it’s that moment in the relationship where you’re not asking any hard questions, you’re just enjoying the moment – before reality catches up with you.”
