Wild Arrows, has shared “Got To Know” the latest single to be released from the band’s forthcoming album Rejection Bloom, available out October 20th . The track follow’s EP’s lead single “The Last Day Of Summer” which was released last month. Along with the news, Wild Arrows is also announcing a Brooklyn EP release show on October 22 at Sleepwalk. Tickets for the show are on sale now.

Commenting on the song Mike Law says, “We recorded this song which is obviously, about dancing next to a tall puppet who is taking Robyn’s, “Dancing On My Own”, very seriously. Or it’s a dream about that or a dream about that dream. Something along those lines, or both, obviously.”

Wild Arrows’s main writer Mike Law, is perhaps you’d say, a musican’s, musician? His early bands were asked to share stages with a broad range of bands from Fugazi to the Violent Femmes, Minus the Bear to Beach House and Converge. Closely aligned with the DIY scene of Boston and later NYC, Law has released a dozen records with his bands EULCID, New Idea Society and is now preparing to release a new EP from Wild Arrows.

On Rejection Bloom, Law states:

I wanted to do something more immediate and easy to absorb than the last album, Loving the Void, which felt like a full movie where if you missed a scene you wouldn’t understand the plot. Over the last few years I’ve been asked to write songs for pop singers, something I don’t really have a lot of interest in doing. So I might get a little contrarian with it and send them something I know will push their boundaries, kind of daring them to reject it. These songs are some of those that were more for me than for them anyway. In the end it made me push my boundaries and sing some words I felt, but were maybe more obvious than I’d normally like to sing.

While recording in Brooklyn at The Civil Defense, producer Gary Atturio also chipped in with some pop songwriting chops. Law says, “Gary can do most things musically very well so I listened to him on this one when I started adding weird syncopations to the melodies and he kept it reigned in.”
