Chicago duo Feller — Ethan Toenjes (drums) and Pete Willson (guitar/vocals) — release their debut EP, Universal Miracle Worker, via Angel Tapes, the new imprint of Fire Talk Records. In addition, Feller have shared a music video for the EP closer, “Jokes on You.”

Speaking on the track Willson says: “‘Jokes On You’ was just one of the jams that stuck messing around in the rehearsal space. The first shows and all the way up and past recording it was just instrumental but we decided to put some vocals on it last minute. I wrote the lyrics there in the studio and put some drawl on my voice so we like to call it our country song, kind of like grunge country cause it’s slow and heavy. When I write lyrics confidently the lines are written once and never changed, that’s what happened with ‘Jokes On You.’ I don’t know all together if there’s an inherent meaning to the song but I felt the lyrics created a good feel and further dug into the ominous character of the melody, kind of like a nice dark car ride in the country.”
