Pluralone, is the project of guitarist/songwriter Josh Klinghoffer (Beck, Iggy Pop, Pearl Jam), will release new album A Drop In The Ocean on June 12 via Org Music. Ahead of the LP’s arrival, they have shared “Feels Like I’ve Done Wrong.”

A Drop In The Ocean, Pluralone’s is the band’s fourth album name and the first since 2022’s This Is The Show. Known for his work with Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others, Klinghoffer brings the same melodic sensibility and emotional directness that have defined his career to a more acoustic, songwriter-forward set, placing voice, lyrics, and intimate arrangements at the center. Favoring warmth and immediacy over dense production, A Drop In The Ocean highlights his strengths as a composer and arranger, delivering a focused and personal collection of tracks.

Klinghoffer has spent most of his life moving—between bands, studios, tours, and collaborations—but the songs he creates for his solo project Pluralone can feel more isolated, mysterious, nonlinear, and newly urgent. “For the first time in my life,” Klinghoffer says, “I no longer feel like I have all the time in the world.”

A Drop In The Ocean also sees Klinghoffer expanding the world of Pluralone—he brought on past collaborator Eric Palmquist as a producer for the first time, and writer Chelsea Hodson sings backing vocals on a few songs. One of the songs, “Give,” is anchored in Nashville tuning, a technique typically used for shimmer and texture rather than as a song’s foundation. This kind of unlikely decision adds up to a heightened sense of atmosphere, and the feeling that Klinghoffer is in new territory here, building a world distinctly his own.
